1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

AMD opens its largest design centre in Bengaluru

Semiconductor major AMD has opened its largest global design centre in Bengaluru, as the firm seeks to expand research, development, and engineering operations in India. The campus was inaugurated by Union Minister for Railways, Telecommunications, Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The campus will serve as a centre of excellence for the development of leadership products across high-performance CPUs for the data centre and PCs, data centre and gaming GPUs, and adaptive SoCs and FPGAs for embedded devices. This new design centre will enable technology and product development across the AMD portfolio, fueling the next generation of adaptive and AI computing solutions for its global customers.

The campus plans to host approx. 3,000 AMD engineers in the ensuing years, focused on the design and development of semiconductor technology including 3D stacking, artificial intelligence and others. The AMD Technostar campus is part of the company’s USD 400 million investment in India which will be spread over the next five years. 

The 5,00,000 sq. ft. campus and office space has conference rooms designed to foster collaboration and creativity. The space features modern R&D labs spanning 60,000 sq. ft. and a large demo centre for visitors to experience AMD products and solutions. The India Design Centre started with a handful of employees in 2004.

Today, 25 percent of AMD’s global workforce is located in India, engaged in the development of AMD leadership products for data centre, PC and embedded customers. The new facility marks its journey to be a significant contributor in the advancement of semiconductors.
