International technology group ANDRITZ has secured an order from Adani Green Energy (AGEL), India’s largest renewable energy firm, to supply key equipment for the 1,800 MW Gandikota pumped storage plant in YSR Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh.
The scope includes reversible pump turbines, motorgenerators, and associated electromechanical systems, covering design, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning. The project will be executed through ANDRITZ’s advanced Indian manufacturing facilities with support from its global network.
The Gandikota project will significantly support this strategy. For ANDRITZ, this marks the third major contract from AGEL, following the 500 MW Chitravathi project in 2023 and the 1,500 MW Tarali project in early 2025. The Gandikota order, valued in the low three-digit million-euro range, is included in ANDRITZ’s Q2/2025 order intake. With five pumped storage projects underway, ANDRITZ reinforces its leadership in India’s hydropower market.
