The Adani Group has secured its third major real estate project in Mumbai with the redevelopment of Motilal Nagar 1, 2, and 3 colonies in Goregaon (West), following its involvement in the Dharavi redevelopment and the Bandra Reclamation land deal.
On 07 July, 2025, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) signed a redevelopment agreement with Adani for the Motilal Nagar project, estimated at Rs 36,000 crore. Spanning 142 acres, the project is one of Mumbai’s largest housing redevelopment initiatives and is being executed through the Construction and Development (C&D) model.
As per MHADA, the project will rehabilitate 3,372 eligible residential units, 328 commercial units, and 1,600 slum tenements under the 1971 Slum Act. This marks the country’s largest redevelopment project to be carried out via the said model. The agreement signing took place at MHADA headquarters in the presence of key dignitaries, including Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice President & CEO of MHADA, and Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Properties.
