Adani Enterprises has been selected as a mine developer and operator (MDO)
for the Chendipada coal block in Orissa. The block has an annual mining capacity
of 40 million tpa.
Adani's scope of work is to include development and operation of the coal
block, which comprises land acquisition, preparation of mine plan, approvals and
clearances, coal mining, setting up of coal washery, establish railway siding
and deliver washed coal to end user at the designated power stations in Uttar
Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
Adani Enterprises is likely to set up a 2,000 MW power plant for utilising
the coal washery rejects in JV with UCM Coal Company.
