Aerolloy Technologies, a subsidiary of PTC Industries, has commissioned a stateof-the-art vacuum arc remelting (VAR) 400 furnace at its aerospace precision castings plant in the UP Defence Industrial Corridor, Lucknow.
This milestone positions Aerolloy among only two companies globally capable of manufacturing large investment castings in both Titanium alloys and Superalloys. Following its recent vacuum induction melting (VIM) furnace for Superalloy castings, the VAR installation strengthens Aerolloy’s global standing in strategic materials manufacturing. The company can now produce some of the world’s largest titanium castings, critical for next-generation aeroengines, including fan hub frames, and turbine rear frames, as well as industrial gas turbines.
Applications extend beyond aeroengines to aircraft, submarines, artillery systems, strategic defence platforms, and space missions. This specialised, rare capability enhances India’s selfreliance in critical aerospace and defence technologies while meeting global demand for advanced materials.
