Bharat Forge's step-down subsidiary, 'Agneyastra Energetics' has signed an agreement with Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) to acquire a land parcel measuring approx. 949.65 acres at Madakasira in Anantapur district.
The strategic acquisition will facilitate the establishment of a state-of-the-art Defence Energetics Manufacturing Complex designed to support India’s indigenous defence capabilities. The planned complex will include a High Explosives Manufacturing plant, 'ammunition filling plant, and a gun propellant facility. In addition, it will have infrastructure for future expansion into advanced energetics, covering applications in "Rockets, missile systems, Space launch vehicles," and other defence-related programs.
Bharat Forge emphasized that this development marks a significant milestone in aligning with the Government of India’s "Atmanirbhar Bharat" vision for self-reliance in defence manufacturing. The facility at Madakasira is expected to boost domestic defence production, reduce import dependency, and create opportunities for technological advancement and employment in Andhra Pradesh.
