Akzo Nobel India, a paints and coatings maker, is likely to set up a new
manufacturing plant in India.
The company has earmarked Rs 250 crore to set up the proposed plant.
Currently, it is scouting for locations in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka to set
up the plant. The capacity of the plant could be 50-100 million litres per
annum.
The company currently has an installed capacity of 80 million litres per
annum of decorative and auto paints at different locations including Hyderabad
(Andhra Pradesh), Mohali (Punjab) and Thane (Maharashtra). Presently, it is
augmenting the capacity of its Hyderabad plant to 40 million litres per annum.
The additional capacity is expected to be ready by September 2011.
