Anticipating manufacturer-built cabins to
become mandatory, Ashok Leyland plans to invest Rs.140 crore to put up
additional facilities at its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu for making cabins for
its commercial vehicles.
Presently, the company gets metal sheets pressed for
making cabins by Musco, a Mahindra group company, at Thane in Maharashtra.
Funds would be raised from internal accruals and the
annual borrowing plan of the company.
The project is expected to be completed by December
2001.
