The Government of Assam has initiated the development of a ropeway project in Guwahati and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with G R Infraprojects on 26 February 2025. The project aims to establish a ropeway connecting Sonaram Field to Bhubaneshwari Temple, Kamakhya.
As per the MoU, the state government will assist G R Infraprojects in obtaining all required permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances from relevant state departments, agencies, and authorities. These efforts will align with existing policies, rules, and regulations to ensure smooth implementation. The total proposed investment for the project is Rs 270 crore.
The MoU will remain valid for 12 months from the date of signing, unless extended by the Government of Assam.
