Atlas Copco has launched its Reman Equipment Program in India, aimed at restoring used compressors and engines to their original performance levels.
This initiative focuses on enhancing equipment lifespan, reducing total cost of ownership, and minimizing environmental impact through sustainable remanufacturing practices. Under this program, the company refurbishes returned equipment to match the performance of new units at a significantly lower cost. Customers benefit from reduced capital expenditure, shorter equipment downtime, and access to upgraded technologies, making it a cost-effective and efficient alternative to buying new equipment.
The program is especially relevant for sectors like construction, mining, oil and gas, and water well drilling, which rely heavily on durable and reliable compressors. The remanufacturing process includes a comprehensive series of steps: assessment, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, replacement of worn components, reassembly, performance testing, and final painting and finishing.
Each refurbished unit is tested for quality and performance to meet stringent ISO certification standards. Atlas Copco also offers warranties on remanufactured equipment, covering any defects in design or production.
