On September 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Avaada Group’s Rs 1,600 crore solar power project in Gujarat and laid the foundation stone for a new 100 MW plant in the state.
The inaugurated 280 MW project spans 1,170 acres across Tavi and Varsani villages in Surendranagar district and has been developed under the Gujarat State Solar Policy. Led by Vineet Mittal, the Avaada Group emphasized that the project reflects India's growing momentum in clean energy and aligns with the government's vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). The investment of Rs 1,500 crore in the 280 MW plant further underlines private sector support for India's renewable energy goals.
With these developments, Avaada continues to strengthen its footprint in India’s green energy sector, supporting both regional development and the national clean energy mission. The Prime Minister’s presence at the inauguration signals strong government backing for accelerating the country’s energy transition and boosting indigenous solar capacity.
