Sunsure Energy has commissioned an 82.5 MW group captive solar project in Erach, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, for supply of clean power to Haldiram’s, APL Apollo, and a major data centre.
The project is expected to generate 128 million units annually and marks Sunsure’s 10th open access project in the state. With this addition, Sunsure now operates 260 MW of open access solar capacity across Uttar Pradesh, including locations like Agra, Banda, Mahoba, Jhansi, and Chitrakoot. The company benefits from supportive state policies, including banking provisions and waivers on electricity duty, transmission, and wheeling charges, encouraging investment in large-scale solar and storage projects.
Sunsure currently has 600 MW of operational assets and 7.5 GW under development across several Indian states, targeting 10 GW by 2030. Recently, Sunsure won NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam’s auction for a 250 MW battery energy storage system and secured Rs 4.16 billion in financing for a 150 MW solar park in Solapur, Maharashtra, expected to be fully commissioned by March 2025.
