1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

BMC allots funds for Mumbai road projects

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has provided Rs 2,806.80 crore in the 2016-17 budget for the improvement of roads. Of this, Rs 1,340 crore has been given for road concretisation and Rs 1,466 crore towards asphalt-mastic roads. In addition to this, 132 major junctions on roads will also be improved.

The major concrete roads proposed to be taken up in 2016 are MG Road, Tardeo Road, Aacharya Donde Marg and GD Ambedkar Marg. Improvement of side-strips and footpaths of Veera Desai Road and Achyutrao Patwardhan Road will be undertaken and concretisation of Shraddhanand Road in Western suburbs and Ghatkopar-Mankhurd-Link-Road, Andheri-Ghatkopar-Link-Road and LBS Marg in the Eastern suburbs has also been proposed.

The asphalt roads that are to be revamped are the Nagindas Master Road, Dongarshi Road, Pratiksha Nagar Main Road and Old Prabhadevi Marg. While in the suburbs the MIDC Road, Pipeline Road, Marve Road at Madh Village, TPS Road all located in the Western suburbs and AH Wadia Road, 10th Road Chembur, BP Cross Road No.4 in Eastern suburbs will be re-asphalted as well.

Around 132 important junctions on major roads will be strengthened with asphalt. Of them, 52 are in city area 45 in the Western suburbs and 25 in the Eastern suburbs.

Besides road upgradation, the street names and direction boards on arterial roads will be upgraded to “international standards” at a cost of Rs 9.65 crore. The BMC has also proposed the reconstruction of flyover bridges near Charni Road railway station, JVPD circle and extension of Jogeshwari north and south flyovers.
