Electric vehicle manufacturer Bharat New-energy Company, or BNC Motors will invest Rs 100 crore in the next 18 months as it is set to augment its production capacity and roll out new products.
The company will launch a scooter brand ‘Perfetto’ in the coming months, which has been developed in partnership with Japanese company Musashi Seimitsu. BNC will also launch a Bike named ‘Boss’, which has been developed in-house.
The company is also setting up a new production facility in Coimbatore to manufacture three lakh vehicles annually, which will cater to exports to Africa. On the domestic front, its two-wheeler EV (brand-named Challenger) is expected to achieve sales value of 1,000 units a month by the end of the financial year. The company is also mulling to expand its dealer network in the southern states by the end of FY24.
The vertically integrated company has 90 percent of the supply chain located in Tamil Nadu. Moreover, it will invest another Rs 100 crore under the production-linked incentive (PLI) Scheme within the next 18 months.
