The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reaffirmed its commitment to timely completion of infrastructure projects, with the first phase of the Bandra-Dharavi flyover set to finish by 30 November, 2025.
During an inspection, Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar stated, “Once this phase is finished, two new southbound lanes will be opened for traffic, providing direct access to the Mahim Causeway flyover.” Currently, 90 percent of the work is complete. Strict adherence to timelines has been emphasised, and officials have been directed to secure all necessary permissions in advance.
Part of the larger Mithi River widening project, the flyover is designed in two phases to ensure minimal obstruction to water flow.
Commissioner Bangar also reviewed the Worli flyover project (30 percent complete), set to link E Moses Road and Dr Annie Besant Road by December 2026, and the Bandra skywalk, which is 80 percent complete and scheduled to open before 31 December 2025, as per Bombay High Court directions.
