The International Film City project has advanced as Bayview Projects, owned by film producer Boney Kapoor, has submitted the detailed layout plan to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
The Film City is proposed over 1,000 acres in Sector-21, along the Yamuna Expressway, with the first phase spanning 230 acres and estimated to cost Rs 1,510 crore. YEIDA officials, including OSD Shailendra Bhatia, confirmed that the plan will now be thoroughly reviewed. Following the necessary approvals, formal construction work will commence. The concession agreement was signed on 27 June, 2024, and the right of way was transferred in February, 2025.
The Master Plan had been approved earlier on 30 January, 2025. The Film City will be developed in three phases over eight years. The first 155 acres will house core infrastructure such as film studios, sound stages, post-production units, and a film institute. An additional 75 acres will later be developed into a commercial hub with retail and entertainment facilities, once film-related constructions are complete.
Rajiv Arora, General Manager of Bayview Projects, confirmed that construction will start as soon as all necessary approvals are received.
