Berger Paints plans to invest Rs 2,700 crore over next five to six years, which will include adding fresh capacity in Bengal, Odisha and the western part of the country as well as brownfield expansion.
The proposed plant at Panagarh, West Bengal is expected to be commissioned in 2025-26 and would involve an investment of around Rs 400 crore. Together with the brownfield scaling up, the cumulative investment in the state could be to the tune of around Rs 600 crore.
The company is also planning to come up with a new plant in Odisha and is yet to decide the location of the proposed plant in the western part of the country.
In February, 2023 Berger had commenced the company’s biggest plant at Sandila in Uttar Pradesh to manufacture products across categories.
Berger Paints with its protective coating business and construction chemicals, along with subsidiary STP and others had recorded a consolidated revenue of Rs 10,568 crore in 2022-23, and is looking to double its sales revenue, with the capacity building.
