As per the recent update gathered by the research team of Projects Today, civil work is underway for laying integrated sewerage system at Bhubaneswar in Khurda district of Odisha under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
The Odisha Water Supply & Sewerage Board (OWSSB) involves setting up an integrated sewerage system with a capacity of 56 MLD, 28 MLD, 43.50 MLD each in district I, II and III respectively.
In July 2017, Iron Triangle in joint venture (JV) with Laxmi Construction bagged a contract worth Rs 206 crore for construction of sewerage district (SD)-I and Tata Projects in JV with SSG Infra Projects bagged a contract worth Rs 345.37 crore for construction SD-III of the project.
Few months later in October 2017, Laxmi Construction bagged a contract worth Rs 173.08 crore for construction of SD-II and a year later in 2018, Laxmi Construction bagged another contract for construction of SD-IV (Kalinga Nagar area) of the project.
The project includes a sewerage network of 25 km in SD-I and 97 km in SD-III, terminal pumping stations and sub-stations, and sewage treatment plants in the two SD.
The latest update collected by Projects Today indicates that civil work of SD I, II and III has been commenced. The promoter has scheduled June 2019 for completion of sewage system in district I and II. Additionally, the design approval work for SD-IV was under process.
The overall project has been planned to be completed by July 2020.
