The biogas sector received investment commitments exceeding Rs 200 crore at the renewable energy exhibition RenewX 2025, according to the Indian Biogas Association (IBA). The three-day expo, organised by Informa Markets, was held at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, from April 23 to 25.
The event witnessed multiple MoUs being signed, fostering investment and collaboration within the biogas industry. RenewX 2025 brought together stakeholders from the bioenergy, solar, wind, energy storage, and management sectors, offering a comprehensive platform for strategic discussions and partnerships. With an emphasis on bioenergy innovations, sustainable collaborations, and policy dialogue, the event attracted strong interest from industry professionals, investors, and policymakers.
Highlighting the event’s success, IBA President A R Shukla said, "RenewX 2025 showcased a unique blend of technology, grassroots innovation, and policy alignment. It is clear that bioenergy can play a pivotal role in reshaping India's energy future especially when supported by the right regulatory and financial ecosystem."
Founded in 2011 and revitalised in 2015, the Indian Biogas Association has consistently championed the cause of sustainable waste management and clean energy through biogas solutions. It has collaborated with international organisations like the German Biogas Association to advance bioenergy technologies in India
The investment commitments at RenewX 2025 are expected to significantly bolster the sector’s growth, particularly in Southern India, supporting the larger mission of a greener, self-sufficient energy future for the country.
