The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) granted an interim transmission licence to Mandsaur I RE Transmission, a subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), on 15 December, 2025.
PGCIL will now issue a public notice inviting comments or suggestions on the licence grant, with feedback due by 31 December, 2025. The matter will be reviewed at the next hearing on 06 January, 2026. Mandsaur I RE Transmission is implementing an interstate transmission system in Madhya Pradesh.
The project, costing Rs 319 crore, aims to enhance transformation capacity with interconnecting transformers and line bays at Mandsaur substation. It is scheduled for phased commissioning between March 2027 and March 2028. PGCIL won the bid for the project under the TBCB framework with an annual transmission charge of Rs 446.99 million.
