On October 26, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis laid the foundation stone for major development projects worth Rs 1,352 crore in Phaltan, Satara.
The initiative aims to boost infrastructure, irrigation, and industrial growth in the drought-prone region of western Maharashtra. During the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony and farmers' meet, CM Fadnavis highlighted the government's focus on transforming Phaltan and nearby talukas by completing long-delayed irrigation projects and rapidly expanding infrastructure.
The event also saw the inauguration of the second phase of the Right Main Canal under the Neera Deoghar Project, which is vital for the agricultural development of the region. The Nira Deoghar Canal work, part of this effort, is expected to significantly enhance water supply for local farmers, contributing to sustainable agricultural growth.
