Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has reviewed the condition of Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages under the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) and instructed officials to prepare detailed repair plans.
The Minister emphasised accountability from the respective contracting agencies for the damages and their involvement in the repairs. The Sundilla barrage will be repaired under a revised, cost-effective plan in conjunction with the Tummidihatti project, which aims to supply water to the Sripada Yellampalli project. Officials were tasked with preparing a plan to divert 80 TMC ft. of water from Tummidihatti to Sundilla.
Furthermore, plans are to be developed to supply irrigation and drinking water to the erstwhile Adilabad district. Another review meeting will be held in the second week of November to evaluate project reports and decide on the next steps.
