Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated a new super specialty hospital at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS), advancing Karnataka’s goal to expand advanced healthcare across all districts.
He also laid the foundation for several development projects including doctors’ residential quarters, a new city bus terminal under the Smart City initiative, the PM-Usha building at Rani Chennamma University in Hirebagewadi, and a highway approach road to the university. Emphasising the government's commitment, he reiterated the plan to establish one government medical college and super speciality hospital in every district, noting that 22 medical colleges have already been launched.
He underlined the government’s focus on social justice and equitable healthcare for the poor and marginalized. Addressing recent agricultural losses due to heavy rains, the CM announced compensation of Rs 17,000 per hectare for dry crops and Rs 21,500 for irrigated crops, pending survey results.
