The 50th meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) was held on 05 July, 2025 under the chairmanship of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, during which seven key proposals were approved to accelerate the long-pending construction of Amaravati, the state capital.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Administration Minister Dr. P. Narayana, Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy, CRDA Commissioner Vivek Yadav, and other senior officials. Addressing the media after the meeting, Minister Narayana stated that the Amaravati capital construction would be completed within three years, attributing previous delays to the late finalisation of the master plan in 2018.
The CRDA approved the acquisition of 20,494 acres in four villages of Amaravati mandal and three villages of Tullur mandal. It also gave the green light for issuing RFPs (Request for Proposals) for high-density residential and mixed-use development projects across 58 acres in Finance City and Sports City, covering Mandadam, Rayapudi, and Pichukalapalem. To enhance civic infrastructure, convention centres near five-star hotels were approved, along with sand dredging above the Prakasam Barrage to meet material demands for capital construction.
