Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed officials to ensure that all ongoing mega projects in the state are completed within stipulated timelines.
The CM presided over a review meeting focused on projects costing more than Rs 100 crore, including those under the Medical Education & Research Department and the Irrigation & Water Resources Department. Officials informed that large-scale irrigation projects are underway to promote water conservation, enhance irrigation efficiency, and secure adequate water supply.
Key initiatives include a new parallel line channel (PLC) from Dadupur to Hamida Head and the modernization of the Western Yamuna Canal (WYC), with over 80 percent of the work completed. The project aims to curb seepage losses from Hathnikund Barrage during non-monsoon months. Additionally, the reconstruction of the augmentation canal up to WYC Branch (75.25 km) is being executed at a cost of Rs 383 crore. The lining and remodelling of PD Branch (Munak to Khubru Head) are also progressing at an estimated Rs 256 crore.
