Cummins on 14 January 2011 inaugurated three new plants at Phaltan in Satara
district of Maharashtra. The three plants have been set up at an investment of
Rs 500 crore.
Tata Cummins has set up a unit producing engines for commercial vehicles with
a capacity to make 90,000 units annually. Cummins India has set up a rebuild
centre for high horsepower engines. It will rebuild engines from 19 litres (K19)
up to 60 litres (QSK60 series) and also repair all other Cummins manufactured
engine models. Meanwhile, a facility for remaking engines and components has
been built by Cummins Technologies India.
