Japanese automotive giant Denso Corporation will invest Rs 250 crore to set up a manufacturing facility for motor generators in Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
The move is aimed at strengthening India’s electric and hybrid vehicle ecosystem and advancing the country’s shift toward clean mobility solutions. The investment was confirmed following a strategic meeting between Denso executives and a visiting delegation from Uttar Pradesh, led by Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary (Infrastructure and Industrial Development), at Denso’s global headquarters in Kariya, Japan. Representatives from Invest UP also participated in the discussions.
The upcoming facility will focus primarily on producing motor generators, which are critical components for both hybrid and electric vehicles. The plant is expected to play a key role in localising advanced vehicle technologies and supporting the country’s green mobility targets.
The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, where a broader Uttar Pradesh delegation, led by State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, is engaging with Japanese industry leaders and government officials. Discussions with Osaka Prefectural Assembly members Kida Kaoru and Kinjo Katsunori also explored industrial cooperation, technology transfer, and workforce upskilling opportunities between Japan and Uttar Pradesh.
