Dabur will open a new manufacturing unit in South India and invest Rs 135 crore towards this. The greenfiled unit will manufacture a range of Ayurvedic healthcare, personal care and home care products like Dabur Honey, Dabur Red Paste, and Odonil air fresheners.
The board of the company in a meeting on 31 January, 2024 approved the investment to establish the facility. This would be the company's 14th domestic manufacturing location, which owns brands such as Dabur Amla, Dabur Vatika, and juice brand Real. This would aid in job creation, while also allowing it to further expand its manufacturing capabilities and meet the growing need for Dabur products in the region.
The FMCG and Ayurvedic products maker has scaled up its business in south India, which accounts for nearly 20 percent of Dabur's domestic business, a new manufacturing facility will cater to the local demand even better.
The company witnessed a volume growth of six percent. Operations generated higher revenue in the third quarter of the current financial year led by home and personal care, and food and bevearge business.
