Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy announced that the proposed airport at Dagadarthi in Kavali Assembly constituency is expected to be completed by 2027.
During a site visit, he was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Beeda Mastan Rao, Kavali MLA Dagumati Venkatakrishna Reddy, Collector O. Anand, and Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials. The project was initiated in 2019 when the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government laid the foundation stone. The airport will be developed on 1,379 acres, with 669 acres under government possession and 710 acres still to be acquired. Given its proximity to the national highway and nearby ports, the airport is expected to facilitate both cargo and passenger services.
As the region is poised to become an industrial hub, the MP urged AAI officials to expedite the project and ensure completion by 2027.
