The Delhi Jal Board has given its approval to the water treatment plant at Chandrawal in Delhi.
The Rs 2,018 crore project is aimed at achieving equitable and improved water supply in the Chandrawal WTP command area. It caters to about 2.20 million people. Implementation of the project will significantly boost the socio-economic and environmental aspects of Delhi, and provide improved services to the population of the command area.
The Board has approved the award of project design and bid management for construction of a 40 million gallon per day waste water treatment plant and pumping station at Coronation Pillar. This is being done with support from the Government of Singapore. The project will be funded through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) towards the Delhi Water Supply Improvement Project.
