The Delhi government has finalised a proposal to develop three new industrial areas in Kanjhawala, Ranikhera, and Baprola, aiming to boost economic growth and promote non-polluting industries.
The plan, set to be presented at an upcoming cabinet meeting, focuses on establishing high-tech zones supporting frontier sectors like artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and advanced robotics. The project will be developed through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with financial incentives for participating industries. Covering around 1,200 acres, the industrial zones are expected to generate lakhs of jobs.
Unlike existing factory hubs, these areas will be designed as integrated satellite towns, combining industrial, residential, and commercial spaces, inspired by Gurgaon's Cyber City model. Key infrastructure agencies like DTC and Delhi Metro will ensure robust connectivity. Ranikhera and Baprola, with 147 and 137 acres respectively, will host specialised hubs including an electronic city with plug-and-play facilities. The new areas will also prioritise eco-friendly infrastructure and modern amenities to enhance liveability and attract skilled talent.
