District Collector DK Balaji has directed officials to fast-track the expansion and development works at Vijayawada International Airport in Gannavaram, ensuring completion within the set timeline.

Chairing a review meeting on November 04, he instructed officials to submit proposals for additional works according to guidelines. The meeting focused on resolving issues related to land acquisition, court disputes, and compensation for farmers. It also covered the progress of the new integrated terminal, ceiling and elevation works, vehicle parking, drainage, and other infrastructure.

DC Balji inspected the ongoing construction of the terminal building and expressed satisfaction with the work progress. The review meeting saw participation from various departments, including Airports Authority of India, Revenue, Panchayat Raj, Irrigation, Drainage, and Rural Water Supply.
