The Telangana government has sanctioned an additional Rs 90 crore for land acquisition for the Mamnoor Airport project in Warangal.
This latest allocation supplements the earlier Rs 205 crore granted in November, 2024, bringing the total to Rs 295 crore. The funds will enable the District Collector and revenue officials to finalise awards and compensate affected landowners for acquiring 280 acres and 30 guntas of land. The Transport, Roads & Buildings (Airports) Department issued the order following a request by the district administration. Additionally, the state recently approved Rs 40.53 lakh for a pre-feasibility study for a greenfield airport at Anthergoan in Peddapalli district.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has been engaged to prepare techno-economic feasibility reports (TEFRs) for six proposed regional airports across Telangana. The consultancy fee set by AAI will be valid until December 31, 2025. These infrastructure initiatives reflect the government’s push to enhance regional air connectivity across the state.
