China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) laid the foundation stone for its Djibouti headquarters.
The company’s new building worth USD 70 million will be tallest structure in the country having 23 storey twin-towers.
The project will spread over 42,000 sq mtr and will include 480 apartments serving as Small Office, Home Office, a complete set of modern office facilities, conference rooms, gymnasium, swimming pools, 260 parking lots, etc.
CCECC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Djibouti government. The company will also experiment with land reclamation in nearby seaside areas and examine the impact of artificial islands on surrounding marine ecology. It intends to provide science-based demonstrations and technological preparations for the development of an urban complex called The Wings of Djibouti, on the eastern coast.
The project will create employment opportunities for over 2,000 people during construction, and for over 1,000 people when put into operation.
