On November 11, Minister for Medical Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Sharan Prakash Patil, laid the foundation stone for a new drinking water supply in Sedam, Karnataka.
Under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, theRs 47.85 crore project aims to address the town’s long-standing water scarcity by drawing water from the Khachur Barrage. The project will ensure 135 liters of clean water per person daily, benefiting all residents within 18 months. The initiative includes constructing five new overhead water tanks to improve storage and distribution efficiency.
Additionally, Dr. Patil highlighted ongoing infrastructure improvements, such as an upgraded Sedam Taluk Hospital, new roads under Kalyana Patha and Pragathi Patha projects, and strengthening the underground drainage network. He emphasized his goal of transforming Kalaburagi into a health hub and urged citizens to use public health facilities.
