Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation stone for 13 highway projects and inaugurate a road safety project in Manipur on 17 August 2020.
These projects for inauguration and foundation laying carry a road length of 316 km, involving construction value of about Rs 3,000 crore.
The Union Minister will lay the foundation stone for four-laning of Imphal-Moreh section of NH-39(NH-102) from 330.00 km to 350.00 km (Package-I) entailing an investment of Rs 762 crore.
The foundation stone will also be laid for widening to two lane with hard shoulder of Churachandpur to Tuivai section of NH-102B from 0.000 km to 13.747 km (Package-1A) worth Rs 167.95 crore; 13.747 km to 32.835 km (Package-1B) worth Rs 241.52 crore; 32.835 km to 48.587 km (Package-2A) worth Rs 232.99 crore and 118.850 km to 130.000 km (Package-4A) worth Rs 204.12 crore.
Apart from this, work will be undertaken for two-laning of Churachandpur to Tuivai section (21.88 km) of NH-102B (2B Packages) worth Rs 365.33 crore and Churachandpur to Tuivai section (11.03 km) (4B Packages) worth Rs 177.77 crore.
Widening/strengthening to two laning with hard shoulder of Pallel-Chandel section from 0.000 km to 18.292 km of NH-102C will be taken up at the cost of Rs 107.72 crore; construction of Moreh Bypass to two lane with paved shoulder from 421.950 km to 425.411 km (length - 2.52 km) on NH-39 will cost Rs 68.14 crore; widening/improvement to two lane with earthen shoulder of Yaingangpokpi-Finch Corner section from 0.00 km to 16.900 km (length - 16.900km) of NH-202 (Package-I) will entail investment worth Rs 237.39 crore and for Yaingangpokpi-Finch Corner section from 16.900 km to 30.970 km (length-14.070km) of NH-202 (Package-II) will cost Rs 241.42 crore.
The above 11 projects will be taken up by the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) with an aggregate value worth Rs 2,806.35 crore.
Apart from this, the foundation stone will be laid for two road projects of PWD, Manipur. This includes restoration and rehabilitation of the road from 00.00 km to 83.50 km (length - 83.50 km) on NH-102A i/c protection/slide slope works by retaining walls, etc, essential places and 83 nos of HP culverts on EPC mode worth Rs 55.52 crore.
Work will also be taken up for restoration and rehabilitation of road from 134.00 km to 202.00 km (length - 68 km) on NH-102A i/c protection/slide slope works by retaining walls, etc essential places and 50 nos of HP culverts on EPC mode worth Rs 53.81 crore.
The Union Minister will inaugurate road safety work through improvement of junctions, foot-over-bridge, footpath, road signs, marking, etc in 462 km to 464 km of NH-150 (New NH-02) and at 320 km of NH-39 (NewNH-102) under road safety Annual Plan 2017-18 in the state. The project has three foot-over-bridges. The value of the project is worth Rs 16.91 crore.
