The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is set to overhaul the water supply systems across its industrial estates with a comprehensive upgrade.
This initiative will introduce smart flow meters, automated operations, and real-time water quality monitoring. The project aims to improve water supply reliability, enhance water quality for industries, and streamline operations. Smart devices, including wireless water level and quality transmitters, will be deployed across estates, feeding data into a cloud-based system for centralised monitoring.
The upgrade is aligned with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade's (DPIIT) focus on improving industrial infrastructure, particularly for water supply and environmental monitoring. The GIDC expects the system to detect leakages, prevent overflows, and optimise water usage across estates, improving operational efficiency. The estimated cost for this project is still being finalised.
