The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) has sanctioned Rs 220 crore for upgrading power infrastructure in Ghaziabad, and carrying out repair works across three zones in FY26.
The initiative covers about 1,369 projects, with work scheduled to begin in October and conclude by February 2026. The planned works include capacity enhancement of existing distribution transformers, installation of 250 KVA transformers, strengthening of 33 kV and 11 kV lines, division of feeders, replacement of worn-out low-tension (LT) wires, upgrading damaged VCBs, and construction of new 33/11 kV lines.
Zone-wise allocations include Rs 85.66 crore for Zone 1, Rs 59.22 crore for Zone 2, and Rs 73.78 crore for Zone 3. Pawan Aggarwal, Chief Engineer of Zone 1, stated that tenders will be finaliSed after the festive season.
Meanwhile, Deepak Aggarwal, Chief Engineer of Zone 3, noted that of the Rs 220 crore sanctioned last year, about 60% of work has been completed, with over 70 percent progress in some areas.
