Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) has approved its business plan for 2025-26, sanctioning projects worth nearly Rs 90 crore to enhance the electricity system across Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, and Fatehpur districts.
The initiative focuses on installing over 200 new transformers and upgrading more than 250 existing ones, alongside major infrastructure upgrades. In Prayagraj zone-I, Rs 27.57 crore has been allocated, including Rs 3.87 crore for three new 33 kV lines and Rs 5.04 crore for five new 11kv lines. A key feature is the installation of 72 transformers at Rs 13.20 crore, while Rs 1.36 crore will upgrade ten transformers.
Additionally, Rs 3.88 crore will cover 190 minor works such as wire and feeder replacements. Zone-II, covering trans-Ganga, trans-Yamuna, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, and Fatehpur, will see over 130 new transformers and 240 capacity enhancements, plus new 33kV and 11kV lines. Officials said all projects will be completed within six months with “strict accountability” measures to ensure timely delivery.
