Greenstar Fertilizers will commence expansion of its phosphoric acid unit in order to meet the raw material demand for Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) production.
The unit will be developed in its existing facility at Tuticorin in south Tamil Nadu, at an estimated cost of Rs 135 crore. The company has started the environmental clearance for the project with a public hearing to be held on 30 December, 2016.
Following the completion, the raw materials handling will more than double with rock phosphate handling surging to 62,100 tonne a month, while the sulphuric acid capacity will increase to 54,900 tonne. The output of phosphoric acid will double to 1.5 lakh tonne.
The raw material for the proposed project will be purchased from Rajasthan or Gujarat, or imported. The final products, SSP, DAP and aluminium fluoride will be sold in the domestic market.
