The Gujarat government has allocated 188 acres of land to Tata Group and CG Power, with around 160 acres earmarked in Dholera for Tata Group to set up a mega semiconductor fabrication plant at an estimated investment of Rs 91,000 crore.

Tata Electronics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Son has formed a partnership with Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) to build India's first AI-enabled semiconductor fabrication facility. While boasting a manufacturing capacity of up to 50,000 wafers per month, the project is also expected to create over 20,000 direct and indirect skill-based jobs in the region.

CG Power has been offered 28 acres in Sanand, for its Rs 7,600-crore ATMP plant. The Murugappa Group company has signed an agreement with Renesas and Stars Microelectronics for the facility which will manufacture a wide range of products, including QFN and QFP and advanced packages such as FC BGA.

The ground-breaking ceremony for both projects is scheduled for 13 March, 2024.
