Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has secured two major contracts worth approx. Rs 1,418.3 crore and Rs 1,147.51 crore from Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRCL) for Phase I of the Patna Metro Rail Project.
The contracts cover the design and construction of 10.67 km of underground tunnels using tunnel boring machines (TBM) and six Metro stations along the Danapur-Khemnichak corridor. Package PC-05 includes twin tunnels, a cut-and-cover tunnel, an underground ramp at Mithapur, and three stations—Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan, and Patna Station. Package PC-06 features an underground ramp at Rukanpura and three stations—Rukanpura, Raja Bazar, and Patna Zoo.
Both packages also involve architectural finishing, water supply, sanitary, and drainage works. This addition strengthens HCC’s leadership in metro infrastructure development, complementing ongoing projects in Mumbai, Indore, and Chennai metros. HCC has been instrumental in building Metro systems across India, including Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Kolkata, solidifying its reputation as a key player in the urban transit sector.
