Haryana government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airports Authority of India (AAI) for development of the International Aviation Hub at Hisar.
The project will come up on 4,200 acre adjoining the pre-existing airstrip.
The proposed aviation hub envisages a 9,000 ft runway with international standards airport, parking for airlines and general aviation (GA) operators, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, aerospace university, global training centre for pilots, engineers and ground handling staff, and residential and commercial development.
A joint working group comprising domain experts has been constituted to guide the state government in developing Aviation Hub at Hisar.
The department is also in the process to plan and develop a future ready infrastructure for aviation activities in Bhiwani, Narnaul, Pinjore and Karnal.
