Hero MotoCorp is looking forward to starting work soon at its proposed manufacturing plant at Neemrana in Rajasthan.
The project will go on-stream exactly after a year of starting its construction work. It will produce mostly scooters, like Maestro. The new plant is likely to commence production with an initial capacity of 7,50,000 units per annum. The company is investing Rs 550 crore for setting up the plant, along with state-of-the-art Global Parts Centre (GPC) at Neemrana.
Hero MotoCorp is also planning to commence construction work at its Halol plant in Gujarat soon. For the project, the company will invest Rs 1,100 crore. The plant is likely to be functional by FY16 with an annual capacity of 1.8 million units of two wheelers.
The company has a combined installed capacity of seven million units between its three manufacturing projects - Gurgaon and Dharuhera in Haryana, and Haridwar in Uttarakhand. This will go up to well over nine million units once the two new plants go on-stream.
