Indraprastha Gas (IGL) has announced a joint venture with Hindustan Waste Treatment (HWT) to develop compressed biogas (CBG) plants and explore other biofuel initiatives.
The agreement establishes an equal partnership, with both IGL and HWT holding a 50 percent equity stake each. The joint venture will initially have four directors, two from each partner, according to an exchange filing. This collaboration is aimed at expanding IGL's presence in the renewable energy sector and advancing its clean fuel initiatives, which align with its long-term strategy to diversify its energy portfolio. IGL's foray into biogas and other biofuels is part of its commitment to supporting sustainable and eco-friendly energy solutions.
IGL said, “This partnership will enable us to play a key role in the renewable energy space and contribute towards India's sustainable development goals.”
