Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC) has started delivering LPG from Panipat to
Jalandhar through its first cross-country pipeline on 2 December 2008.
IOC
has completed work on the pipeline at a total cost of Rs.158 crore as against an
approved cost of Rs.186.72 crore. With the commissioning of Panipat-Jalandhar
pipeline, the total length of IOC's pipeline network, including crude oil and
product pipelines, has now gone up to about 9,600 km. The company aims to add
about 4,000 km of new pipelines by the end of
the Eleventh Plan period (2007-12).
