IRB InvIT has successfully acquired three highway assets from IRB Infrastructure Trust for Rs 8,436 crore, expanding its portfolio into Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
The assets transferred include Hapur–Moradabad NH-9 (Uttar Pradesh), Kaithal–Rajasthan Border NH-152/65 (Haryana), and Kishangarh–Gulabpura NH-79A (Rajasthan). The acquisition was bolstered by a Rs 4,250 crore investment into IRB InvIT Fund, unlocking Rs 4,905 crore of capital for further growth opportunities.
Following the acquisition, IRB InvIT’s portfolio now comprises nine revenue-generating highway projects totalling over 4,200 lane km and an enterprise value of Rs 16,000 crore. The weighted average concession life of the assets increased to 17 years, enhancing the fund’s potential. This transaction marks the first fund-raise since the InvIT’s 2017 listing and positions the fund for future expansion.
