Imagine Panaji Smart City Development (IPSCDL) plans to conduct a thorough study to assess the condition of the capital's key infrastructure, focusing on roads, drains, waterworks, and heritage buildings.
The study aims to evaluate the state of the city's critical systems and identify necessary measures for preserving heritage structures. IPSCDL has initiated a tender process to hire a consultant for preparing a detailed concept plan, with the project estimated to cost around Rs 97 lakh, funded by the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (2025–26).
The study will include traffic studies, structural designs, drainage planning, 3D modelling, and more. Special attention will be given to the Fontainhas Latin Quarter, a UNESCO-recognised heritage zone, to preserve its colonial-era architecture. The study is expected to be completed by December 15, after which it will be reviewed by the government before moving forward with revitalisation plans.
