Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) is planning to implement two projects to enhance connectivity by rail and road.

JNPT has floated a special purpose vehicle with equity participation from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and City & Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO), to implement a Rs.350 crore road project. The project entails repairing and concretising a 40 km road between Jawaharlal Nehru Port and Panvel. Work on the project is expected to commence in the next two months and is likely to be completed in two years. Of the total project cost, Rs.134 crore would be in the form of equity, while Rs.216 crore would be raised through debt.
