JSW Energy has successfully commissioned 261 MW of renewable energy capacity, comprising 189 MW of solar and 72 MW of wind power. With this development, the company’s total installed capacity has increased to 12,760 MW. The new capacity addition falls within the June quarter, during which JSW Energy added a total of 1.9 GW through a combination of organic and inorganic growth.
According to the company’s statement, the share of renewables in its overall capacity mix now stands at 56 percent, including 3,554 MW of wind, 2,157 MW of solar, and 1,391 MW of hydro power. The timely commissioning will enable the firm to benefit from the peak renewable generation season and significantly enhance its clean energy output.
JSW Energy currently has a locked-in generation capacity of 29.9 GW, comprising 12.8 GW operational, 12.5 GW under construction across various technologies, and a pipeline of 4.6 GW. The company also holds 29.3 GWh of energy storage capacity, including 26.4 GWh hydro pumped storage and 2.9 GWh in battery storage. JSW Energy has set a target of achieving 30 GW generation and 40 GWh energy storage capacity by FY30, with an aim to be carbon neutral by 2050.
